The original farm, Gravendal, was built all the way back in 1769 but it burned down and was reconstructed in 1857. The house is located just 1,000 feet from the southern coastline of the Danish island of Ærø, right between the largest towns on Ærø, Ærøskøbing and Marstal. Here, you can really sense the wild and rough coastal areas towards the Baltic Sea, and that’s what makes the nature of Ærø so unique. The old farm oozes of history and the high ceilings inspire your imagination. You can feel the glory of the past here.

Today, the farm is a B&B with no less than ten rooms, three bathrooms and two kitchens. Here at Gravendal, Mette has redesigned the cozy and well-known concept behind a B&B by using a combination of original elements and modern simplicity.
