CARINA’S CHRISTMAS
There’s no doubt that this is the home of a woman who loves romance and spending quality time with her family. Meet blogger and youtuber Carina Stavnshøj Troelsen who’s invited us into her wonderful Christmas home.
At Carina’s place, Christmas already begins – as for most interior design enthusiasts – by the beginning of November. That leaves us plenty of time to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere for as long as possible and without any stress. The month of December is always over before you know it, Carina says, but if we start in November already, we’ve got enough time to enjoy the cozy feel and finish all our Christmas projects. Carina mainly uses natural decoration items such as spruce, twigs and cones, but her mum has introduced a nice Christmas tradition by giving Carina’s two children each a Christmas bulb every year as a Christmas present which they hang on the tree. Once they move out, they’ll take their Christmas bulbs along. The refectory table in the dining room is from a nursing home where Carina used to work.
This is where the family always share their Christmas dinner. They call the spruce garland above the door "Peter’s Christmas". It’s turned into a tradition and Carina always starts making it in the beginning of November. As the family home is quite big and has lots of space for decoration items, she always makes relatively large Christmas decorations. She uses eucalyptus and hyacinths for her wreaths and decorations, and she adds lots of string lights because she loves those in December.
